The Fleet Air Arm Museum in Yeovilton was host to the fifth Silverline Power Tool Drag Racing Championships at the weekend, bringing together DIY enthusiasts, engineers, hardware retailers, mums, dads and their kids!
The crazy sport of power tool drag racing involves transforming hand held power tools into drag racing mean machines! The action packed day featured some incredible feats of engineering and lots of fun was had by all.
With more contestants than ever before, some of the wackiest entries included a chainsaw driven bicycle and a dragster with a moto-bike modified engine which was powered by stone cutting saws! A completely radical approach was our very own electric scooter. Powered by a 235mm Circular Saw, it was one of the smartest looking entries and a real crowd pleaser!
