I bought this for use in a router table and it’s been excellent so far! The ability to raise and lower the router from above plus the automatic locking mechanism makes it much easier to work with.

This router is fantastic when used in a router table! The variable speed, torque and hp allows the use of bits of various sizes. Panel raising is completed with no strain on the router. Cuts are clean and burn-free. The built-in feature that allows raising and lowering the router from above the table, means adjustments are quick and precise. An added expensive router lift is not needed.

I own the TRA001, and as the title says, this thing is a beast. It is amazing when mounted to a router table. Set up is simple (if you have the right plate), and when installed, it turns your table into a dream to operate. I will say this router is a bit "clunky" for hand operation. No fault of it's own. When you have a 3&1/4 HP motor, size and weight are going to work against you. That being said, it makes for a great plunge router once you get the hang of it. Dust collection is great... if you get the right hose that is! Not mentioned here, but any braided vacuum hose for your HOUSEHOLD vacuum (NOT shop-vac) will screw into the holder. I just went to a vacuum repair store and bought a small section for next to nothing. If you don't want to do that, use the proper Triton hose adjuster.

I bought the Triton TRA001 router to mount in a large router table I built years ago. This replaces a Bosch router. The Triton is vastly better than the Bosch for table usage. First, the Triton is stronger at 3 1/4 HP. Secondly, the through the table adjustment crank is easier to use than the adjustment on the Bosch. You don't even need a router lift when using the Triton. Lastly, the Triton has the collet locking featyre when the router is lifted all the way up. The collet locks and you only need one wrench to change bits. This is so much easier than having to deal with the bit changes in the Bosch. The Triton makes my work easier and faster. I wish I had bought the thing years ago. It is the absolute best router for under table use.

My previous router gave up the ghost, and I was recommended the Triton router as a replacement. I have always hankered after a router raiser on my current table but couldn't justify the expense of a separate one. But when I read the details of the Triton this offered a raiser and I was tempted. I am so glad I bought it on recommendation and carefully read the reviews and details. As my router table is an old one it did require me to do some fettling for the Triton screws (which are 1/4inch UNC thread) to fix to my table. As an aside I had to but some shorter UNC screws to fit the router which I bought from Spalding Fasteners. Now that it is installed and having used it quite a few times now, I am over the moon at its performance. The raiser system works superbly for me, and removes all the uncertainty I always had previously. And the way in which it is so easy to change bits when it's in the table using the raiser locking mechanism is a dream. So overall I am really really pleased I bought this. Thanks Triton

Elle est puissante (3,5CV) donc a l'aise et pour ma part facile a manier grace a son poids qui permet d'avoir une bonne inertie et stabilité. I have a number of routers but this was my first of this size. I chose the 3 1/4 because it was going to be mainly used in a router table. It is in and operating great. There were some minor problems in the set up mainly due to the instruction manual print was so small I had a difficult time reading it and got off track. I copied and increased the print size and things were made easier and me happier. I hope to do some heavier cut profiles soon and feel with the performance I have now in comparison to my other routers there will be no foreseeable problems. Being able to read the manual made using the new features easy.

the table mount winding options is why i bought this however I bought the TRA001B. Triton support has no knowledge of this product. I've discovered this has flat bottomed screwed which makes it not directly compatible with mounting plates which all come with countersunk screws. For the price, I can not recommend it...better off getting something else but it is powerfull. Placement of power cord is not good as it bends when resting it upside down.

Easy set up in my Kreg router table. Precision adjustment is simple and this beast has plenty of power to plunge cut 3/4" mortise in walnut and maple. Two suggestions to make my purchase more convenient would be to include a dust collection adapter for the dust collection shroud and highlight the "+" and "-" arrow indicator on the height adjustment crank. I am very satisfied with the ease of adjustment and power to provide precise, clean work. I plan on buying another Triton for hand held routing. Great tool.

I was needing a new router for my router table after the lift for my Freud router broke. After considering several routers, I concluded that this was the router I wanted. The price seemed comparable to the others, until I realized I would not have to buy a separate lift, which made this a really large bargain. Thiis router replaces an earlier Triton router which has served me well for two decades. It carries on the tradition of powerful, versatile machines. I mainly use it in my Triton router table, for which it was designed and is ideally suited. Nothing daunts these routers they can cope with the heaviest work with easy. At the same time the height adjustment means that it is easy to get precise adjustments for accurate results. The only thing I don't like about the new router is the new collet design. To change the size of the router shank it is necessay to change the whole assembly instead of just the collet insert. I find this an unnecessary complication, especially when working on the table using a narrow throated insert. In this circumstance it is quite difficult to get the collet nut through the table enough to change it or to insert a new cutter. For me, the old system worked very well - so why was it necessay to change it? The question now is, will it last as long as it's illustrious predecessor? Time will tell!!

I now have 2 of these remarkable and powerful routers. 1 is table mounted and is often used for creating finger joints 3metres long in oak. It never falters or over heats and is incredibly easy to use and change over router bits with its self locking mechanism. It is also incredibly accurate on providing a perfect depth. The others is used mainly for surface planing with a 60mm spoilboard cutter and can easily cope with removing 1cm from hard woods like beech. Again incredibly accurate at proving depth of cut whether using the hand mounted adjustment or the top adjuster for finer measurements. Also very easy to use the rotatable and lockable depth setting. Would I recommend or buy again a big 10/10

This is only the second router I have owned, but it beats my previous router hands down. I bought it specifically to use with a router table and the "professional" reviewers were correct - this is a fabulous router to use with a router table. I am a beginner in woodworking and I have started building a router table. The router is extremely powerfull but thanks to the extended baseplate not so difficult to handle, even free hand. But I recommend some guidance. I tested to route a nut into a Mdf board. 5 millimeter dept is easily achievable in one go. All in all I am happy with the router. I have not found a flaw, except that the triton tra001 is heavy. 7,5 kg is a lot to lift.

The TRA001 plunge router out performs my previous four routers hands down. The powerful motor effortlessly cuts through the hardest of hardwoods - from hickory, jatoba, purple heart to hard maple. The simplicity of router functions are a great time saver, and the depth adjustments are accurately repeatable. The safety interlocks are a great deterrent against accidental power ups. The layout of the adjustments are very intuitive and logically functioning. The collets are very secure in holding the various router bits, thereby assuring consistent cutting results.

I’m thoroughly happy with my purchase of the Triton TRA001 router. I purchased it with freehand routing in mind. I was a but concerned about the weight and balance, but that has not proven to be an issue. It has plenty of power and the depth and power controls are conveniently located and easy to use. Bits are easy to change. My only complaint involves pattern touting. Triton chooses to market their own expensive template guide kit rather than making it easy to use the Porter-Cable style guides that seem to be the standard in the US. Too bad they didn’t choose to make a simple design change to the base plate and include an adapter ring to easily accommodate these guides.

I bought the TRA001 to use it with a worktop jig to cut a solid wood worktop corner connection. The power of this device is very convincing. Be sure to hold it tight when switching it on. I plan to use the router in a router table because of the nice lift-feature ist has. There is only one very little thing to mention...the depth stop was not tight enough until i insertet a washer inside the screw hole of the Depth Stop Lock Knob. I would always buy this tool again.

The included handle to control plunge depth from the table top is a really handy feature which swung my decision. The round handles aren't as good or as easy to grip as as some other makes for using as a standard plunge router but as thats not my primary use it doesn't really bother me

I had been looking for a new router for some time. I had some projects in the house which required edge bead and architectural mouldings to reproduce some Victorian skirting, so time to get a more powerful 1/2" router to supplement my 20 year old ELU. I researched all the popular brands, read all the reviews and watched most of the videos. It became obvious that I would need a router table, but it might be possible to do a homemade one once I decided which router to go for. It was just by chance I saw a YouTube video on a homemade router table, which happened to use the Triton TRA001. It very quickly became obvious that the Triton had been designed for table mounting and using this router, it would be relatively easy to make my own table. I researched Triton. I had thought it was a generic Asian manufacturer of routers, but Triton are a well established Australian manufacturer of well made tools. The Triton is excellent value for money, The spec compares and often exceeds that of other manufacturers. I made the decision and purchased the router. It is a beast of a machine...in a nice way. I made my own table. It was relatively easy to do, but because of lockdown, I had to use what materials I had available. The continuous winding adjustment via the handle works really well. My table top is 22mm chipboard, and I didn't recess it on the lower side, so the top is actually too thick and I run out of cutter travel at the highest point, but that is my design which is wrong and nothing to do with the router. I could get an extension collet, but I think I will remake my top, when I can get out to get more suitable materials. Generally, it is very well made, however after a very short time, a screw came out of the depth control locking lever and the lever came off. Fortunately I spotted it immediately and was able to easily refit it, but it should not happen on a new machine. I have owned the router for a few weeks now and am very impressed with the capability of it. It has been really well designed for table fitting, however a drill template, including winding hole would have been very useful. There is a drawing showing the layout of mounting screws, but a simple template would have been very handy. The soft start is more of a delayed start. There is still quite a kick from the machine when it starts, so an improvement could be made there, but not a problem when table mounted. I also noticed that there is a bit of backlash in the micro-adjustment, so whilst it is a micro-adjustment, you cannot guarantee that if you turn the adjuster one turn clock wise, then one turn anti-clockwise that the cutter will be back at the starting position. it is not calibrated, but it isn't really a problem, since I always measure the tool height with a ruler. I think one turn of the handle is 1.6mm. The winding handle has handy graduation marks on the sleeve which fits over the winding hole, so it makes adjustment very easy. Dust extraction is excellent. I was fortunate to have a vacuum hose which fitted the extraction port, but I didn't notice that it was a left hand thread! The router has loads of power, even using large cutters, it rips through work effortlessly. Changing cutter is very simple especially with the automatic spindle lock. Even taking into account the couple of minor criticisms I have about the router, overall, I am absolutely delighted with it and would recommend it especially for home made table mounting. It suits my needs perfectly.

I've owned the router for a few months now. Lots of power, and very quiet compared to other machines less powerful than this one. I have it mounted on a router table most of the time. I like the raising mechanism with the included crank. The spring has to be removed so the raising mechanism works properly. I've also used it out of the table. Plunge mechanism works smoothly as well. I like the locking system for replacing bits. It works well. I did have a problem with the plunging shaft. It broke on me. But, to be fair.. I use it a lot on, and off the table. Costumer service worked very hard to solve the issue. Offered to have it fixed by an authorized repair specialist. I am very mechanical so I repaired it myself after I received the free replacement part from triton. It's still under warranty, so they sent me the part with no problems. Overall I like the router. I guess the only thing I'd chage is some of the parts feel like very cheap plastic. Like the plunging height stops and the plunging shaft. I have a feeling I will have the same problem in a few months because I use the router a lot. I recommend it. Very nice tool.

Very pleased overall but the three stage turret is hopelessly inadequate and very poor quality, the plastic rings move, making it useless. It also lacks the ability to connect a guide plate to the base for templates. It is best suited to be table mounted rather than a plunge router. I love the soft start and the the way the chuck locks automatically at max height.

we have a tra001 router while it has power to work on laminate tops and solid surface it has a problem. the handles are not set up for use edge cutting and the router is top heavy making it want to tip easer. I purchased this product after seeing Youtube and other postitive reviews of the Triton 3 1/4 HP router. I built a custom router table around this product. The router broke within 30 minutes of its first use. It would not respond when the switch was turned on or off. I sent in the tool for warranty repairs as I had not opened it within the first 30 days of purchase due to moving between residences. The warranty repair process took roughly a month which was very frustrating. I shipped all of the contents of the original package in the original package for warranty repairs. When I got the repaired router back, neither collect came back with my machine. I still cannot use the router. The customer service process has been terrible. I would like replacement collets (1/4" and 1/2") sent to me. Based on this experience, I will not be purchasing another Triton product.

I use the TRA001 router in a router table and it has been the best router i have had in years. It has been designed to use both as hand held or converted into a table. Its great that it comes with 2 colets ,a fine height adjuster which is brilliant when used on a router table. This is the perfect router for my routertable. In combination with the Kreg insert plate it makes adjusting and changing routerbits way easier than before, where i had to fiddle around with the spindle lock underneath the table and height adjustment was a pain using a self build router lift. Plenty of power plus the ability to use different size routerbits by easily changing the spindle inserts is another advantage on this router. Only drawback is the poor quality wrench which already shows wear after a couple bit changes. But this is easily over using a more sturdy one. All together a very good tool and surely not my last Triton tool i've purchased.

I have had my Triton Plunge Router mounted to the bottom of a Rockler Table. All for for over 2 years and then it just stopped working. I think it may be the on/off switch but I didn't want to open the case and possibly void the warranty. I called Customer Service and they were very prompt in sending me return instructions, etc. I was disappointed because I don't think I have used the router for more than 5 hours in the past 2 years. Customer Service was excellent to respond and I am hoping that it all works out.

We already have several routers in use in our workshop. Before purchasing a table milling machine, we carefully checked alternatives, which can also be used flexibly. We finally decided on the Triton TRA 001, 2400 W. That was the best decision we could make. The device is ideally suited for installation in a milling table. With a suitable insert, it is extremely quiet, precise and strong in use. The best thing is the height adjustment from above using the supplied crank handle. When the milling head has been moved to the highest position, it locks automatically and you can easily change the milling cutter. The TRA 001 must be switched off for safety, otherwise the cutter cannot be moved to the highest position. This is very well thought out. Our conclusion after various work with the milling machine: That was the best purchase we have made in a long time. The Triton TRA 001 is worth every penny and a clear recommendation.

I’ve been looking at this router for quite a while (Crimson Guitars use Triton Tools extensively) My old Bosch unit was starting to struggle a little, so I took the plunge - no pun intended! This router is dream to use, really carefully thought out and beautifully constructed from fine materials! Lots of safety features ensure that you can’t injure yourself when you are working, though complacency should never be entertained during such activity! I bought the 1/4” collet as well, since I owned quite a few smaller shank bits and I also bought Triton’s 1/2” Starter Pack of bits, which contains many of the necessary ones (IMO!) The TRA001 Router is a powerful workhorse and is a pretty perfectly designed tool that really should be a first consideration for such a purchase - thoroughly recommended!

I did a bit of research before deciding on this router. This router has the most diverse set of features. I’ve had the router for a few months now and it has been amazing. I put in a butterfly inlay and I’ve used it in a router table to round over the edges of a cutting board. I’ve been very impressed with it. I thought it would be a bit big and unwieldy using it free hand but it is well balanced and the dust collection is great.

Great powerhouse of a router. Bought this to make skirting boards in a router table and where previous routers have struggled with the 70mm profile bit this thing breezes through. The constant load feature is brilliant as it makes the router safer to use. Other routers would hit softer wood, speed back up and then bog down again which would result in nasty burning or worse still the bit suddenly stopping. This can lead to shear of the bit which is not good at 12000rpm. The height adjustment above the table is a nice feature as well, makes bit changes a breeze! All in all, a great router packed with features and a full 200 nicker cheaper than the next router along with similar features. No brainer really.

I bought this to use with a router table (although unfortunately it seems the Workcentre system is being re-worked so isn't available at the moment). I've done a few small jobs including some floor board edge finishing which seemed quicker than the floor board cutting! (perhaps I'm using my circular saw wrong or perhaps this is just a very powerful router...). The lock on the depth adjustment side handle is a bit fiddly but I suspect that most of my use will be at fixed depth setting. If this is as easy to use in the router table as the other reviews say, I anticipate continuing to be very happy with it.

I am very pleased with my new Triton TRA001 router. I mounted it on a Kreg router table with the Kreg insert that is predrilled for the TRA001. The ability to adjust the router depth from above the table is invaluable--it works just like a router lift. I chose this option instead of the lift and separate router for two reasons: this option saved me abut $200 and the TRA001 pulls double duty as a plunge router. I am very happy and would recommend this router to others.

I waited a long time to purchase my next router. I wanted one that would not only last but do almost any job I put me mind to. I mounted this to my Rigid Table saw with the help of the Bench dog Extension table and plate and fence kit. I have used it only a couple of times but was amazed at the ease of use and handy micro adjustment knob. My first project was to build a box to hold the spring, plate, and screws not needed while table mounted, so as to not lose anything. Everything is great. I ended up stripping a screw.. so I had to deal with customer service, I wanted to buy parts and fix it myself.. all I got out was the knob fell off and I was told we are going to get you a new router... the customer service is excellent! Ok... I LOVE THIS TOOL! It is full of great innovation and is of wonderful quality. I bought it specifically to mount in my Rockler router table. There were a few surprises... The router is wide from handle to handle. It did not fit in my cabinet like I hoped it would. I had to twist it and remove one handle to make it fit. Probably my fault for not anticipating this with my shop made cabinet. Also my table includes an off and on switch. I can’t just raise the router and change the cutter. Because of the safety lock off on the router, I need to reach in the cabinet blindly to turn off the router switch. The router will not raise completely and lock the collect until the unit is first turned off on the router. It’s an inconvenient but necessary step. All that said, I love the quiet power and the ability to adjust the height so easily. Thanks for asking.

I can’t n comment enough on how great this router is. I had a trend router and decided to go for the TRA001 because I’d seen on YouTube people shoving some massive stock through it in 1 pass which I couldn’t believe but it really does handle it well and the finish is great too. I usually try to micro adjust for a final pass just to be safe. One of the other great features of the tra001 is the plunge control, because I’m always switching between table and handheld the click plunge makes it easy to adjust every time and then the micro adjust is so smooth to dial in on the last mm. When you throw it back in the table it’s easy to just reach under and plunge rut back up and then the lift stick you get in the box reaches through your plate (I had to drill my plate to position it which was a slight pain) and away you go again. Finally I think I’m most impressed with how effortlessly I can change the bits, no two handed messing about pushing buttons, just plunge it up, it locks and boom, one spanner one hand changes. Simply amazing and solid product. Love love love it! So well priced against the leading brands too, my timber supplier just got a dewalt for £600 where as the tra001 cost me like £220, I showed him it and he was gutted.

Being new to DIY I was advised that the two most important items of equipment are a decent table saw and router. Having researched extensively on line the Triton TRA001 kept on coming up as a top performer and value for money. Having passed the specification on to a friend in the trade he said it sounded ideal. Having not used router before I was surprised on just how powerful they are, but after a lot of practice I am now confident using it and have started to get some excellent result on projects I’m working on. The build quality of the router is excellent and gives you confidence that it will last for years to come. Despite previously not being aware of the Triton brand, I’ll be looking at other power tools and accessories instead of defaulting to the more commonly known household brands in the future.

The only negative I have found is the speed adjustment dial can only be read by removing the router out of the table or by getting on my hands and knees to read the speed dial from below. If the speed dial numbers were on the side of the adjustment dial instead of on top, that would be a great improvement. At 70yrs old the knees aren't what they used to be.

I'm not a proffessional! It's my first tool for woodworking. I've read a lots of routers. And now I know it's better to buy a more expensive tool than a cheaper. I want to make a table from a log as it's shown on youtube. This tool eats wood with a cheap routerbit without any problem (my first bit is 12mm/19mm, costs about 5 Euro). Now I must buty extra bit-mounting for 8mm because I have set of cheap bits 8mm to learn. With router they give only mounting/holder 12,7 and 12mm. And later I need 'grinder/planner' for surface. I think It will be TRITON too :). Later I will buy 40mm planning bit and extension. Tool is powerful, silent, I'm happy with it.

Hello everybody, I was looking for a powerful router for a long time. During my research on the www, I have repeatedly stumbled upon the name Triton. Well, I thought, I'll order the TRA001. After three days the router was there - and that from GB to Germany. Already when unpacking I wondered about the heavy weight. I thought that this router is more to be used in a routertable than manual mode. When switching on, I was once again very surprised. The machine was running absolutely quiet. Even at maximum speed, I did not feel that the machine was not controllable. Then I made the first millings. Wow! The cutters glide through all types of wood like butter, no matter what speed is set. Of course, that also depends on the quality of the milling cutters. Anyway, I am very impressed by the quality of the workmanship and the precision of the milling. In the meantime, I have already worked some pieces of wood with this router and I am just as excited as on the first day. Even for me as a hobby carpenter, this router is worth their money and I will not give them anymore. So if you want to buy a great router, you should definitely look around at Triton - it's worth it. And if all Triton machines are so good, I'm sure I'll get one or the other part over time.

I purchased this on a whim at a "Screwfix Live" event. It was a good price :). Have only been using it for a week but have found no problems at all and it's main plus points are: 1. The ability to lock the collet by fully depressing the router is both quick and easy for bit changes. 2. The micro adjustment of the depth is a godsend from my previous router which required unlocking and tapping gently and re-locking. 3. The "wind down" depth setting is very convenient. I have found no negatives and am looking forwards to Christmas where the workstation and router table attachment are top of the list.

This is the second TRA001 that I have bought for my small furniture making workshop to go into my second router table. I have found the TRA001 to be a reliable router that is perfectly at home in a router table. It has the strength to take on any job and the micro adjuster and spindle lock features have saved me the cost of buying a lift system for the table. My only concern is that although Triton market these tools to professionals, this does not extend to the warranty, as professional users only get a one year warranty instead of three. This only leads to the conclusion that Triton does not feel their tools are up to professional use and this makes me drop from five to four stars. Time will tell.

The soft start and variable speed adjustment provides greater control while delivering the power to cleanly cut through hardwoods. In hand held mode the versatility of the plunge routing and the rack and pinion adjustment provides a greater level of control and accuracy with the turret making it simple to switch between 3 pre-determined depths - this has increase my effectiveness and productivity. The provided quick connect fence is sturdy and functional. Within my router table the micro-winder and provided winder extension lever provides the above table adjustment I need to precisely setup the cut without addition under table equipment. The single tool collar lock allows the bit to be changed with all mechanical activity above the table (for safety the power switch does need to be in the off position), this is a nice feature that adds to the usability experience. As an aside I was pleased to learn that many router table manufactures also provide pre-drilled and fine adjustment marked mounting plates for the Triton making things a little simpler in setting up and getting started. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase, it is a well-made precision router that performs very well equipped with well thought out functionality.

I am using the Triton TRA001 exclusively in a Rockler (Benchdog) cast iron table and am very pleased with the results - a great value. The overall package is very smooth/solid and allows me to address more difficult projects with great accuracy and confidence. It's not perfect and my criticisms are: 1: it does not have a soft start 2: the plate mouth is limited to a 3-3/16" opening 3: in a table and with bits wider than roughly 2" widths, you are very limited to how far countersunk you can be before that bit hits the clear vacuum plate 4: it is not what I consider intuitive (compared to other routers) and has a bit of a learning curve with frequent visits to the manual. Normally I would deduct something here, but given that the cost is basically the price of a decent lift and this seems to be the best (by far) solution to bypassing a lift all together... 5 stars given the cost.

I’ve not had a chance to use my new router yet but can already tell that I’m not a fan of the dust collection. You have to thread the collection hose into its connection, which for me wasn’t the easiest thing to do. I had to crush the hose down, insert it crooked so that the threads would engage. Would be much simpler if you did like the green grand of tools does with a boot that just slides over a nipple and call it done. The micro adjust is handy and so is the included “fence”.

I bought this tool a month ago... I have to admit I was slightly intimidated by this router as it is the most powerful I used so far; but I found it easy and safe to use. Its features are super useful and far from being gadgets! It is also a Dual Mode Router as you can either use it as a normal plunge one or you can also table mount it AND it comes with a winder handle to adjust the height/depth of the router bit whence used as a table mounted one! Speed control to adjust the 'rpm' accordingly to the type of wood/project your are working on. 3 different ways to adjust the height of the cutter/router so that you can be super accurate in an easy manner! Lots of other advantages but the list would be long: auto plunge lock to change router bit, vacuum adaptor, safety switch, plate and fence, ... Now, I will see how it performs in a longer run, but for now, this does a great job! Precision, power, maneuverability (despite its weight) and efficiency for a small price... I am sure you guessed, I am totally thrilled and would strongly recommend this router!

Sie ist verhältnissmässig leise und einen guten Durchzug. Schwäche konnte ich bisher nicht feststellen ob in Kiefer, Fichte und auch nicht in Buche. Ich bin sehr zufrieden mit der Fräse. Langzeit Erfahrungen habe ich keine und ich habe die Fräse selbst gekauft zum normalen Preis - dies ist also keine Werbung. Michael

I have two of them in my shop and am delighted with their quality and willingness to take on some pretty rough routing and shaping jobs. In the past I have put a lot of efforts to suit a router from another brand to mu routing tables and I clearly know how many problems you have to find a solution for and how much time and money it would cost with a doubtful success. A lot. Unpacking my new TRA001 I was astonished by the features that it provides right out from the box for a table mount usage. Except the enormous 2,4kW power, the built in precision lift system, spindle auto-blocking in the bit changing position, s-shaped wrench, power switch blocking in ON position in order external start/stop button block to be used, dial instead of button control of the electronics, allowing to start at the fixed speed every time, are features that make this router not simply a machine but his owner's best friend in the shop. TRA001 is probably the best choice on the market for a router table usage as for hand held as well for the price!

I was looking for an additional router to hang permanently in the table and this looked the ideal unit as it offered some exceptional features which i’ll List. -The router lift mechanism- Yes! It’s easy to adjust the height and super quick! Great innovation! All it needs is a hole in the table. I decided to buy an Insert plate with pre-bored holes. This machine was too heavy for my ply table to support without bowing so go for a rigid plate if you feel the need for one. -The spindle lock- Use the lifting handle to wind the router all the way up and you are free to change cutters one handed! The collet pops up through the table so much higher than any other router I have owned so the action of releasing the cutter/collet is unhindered even with reducing rings in place. -The motor. - soft start and this thing will chomp through anything my cutters throw at it. There are many other great features to this powerful, safe machine but these are my favourites and have made routing on the table a real pleasure.

I have only had my router for 2 weeks so far but at very impressed with its capabilities and smooth performance. I was using a 2-1/2 hp router in my table and this is so much quieter and smoother running. I have used it to do raised panels with no bogging of the motor taking full cuts. I thuroughly enjoy the above table adjustment and the auto spindle lock for changing bits one handed. I wish it still had the old 1/4 turn collet but understand that some changes need to be made for safety. May add a muscle chuck in the future to get a similar ease of changing bits.

when I first got the router I had the metric collect instead of the standard collect. I called up the company had no problem getting the new part in. since then I have loved using the router in the table, it eats everything I cut through it. on the other hand it's a bit heavy for using outside of the table. I have a plunge router which is suitable for table use. I used not so much time and two springs are so loose and need to be replaced. I was following Trition routers quite while on youtube.Since we did not have any retailer in Turkey I have decided online purchase. I am glad I did it.This machine is so perfect for table use and other router use. Spring is easily detached from the machine just using a screw does not need any special training.Design is perfect the pinion system keeps the depth still.Also gives extra security.I am so satisfied about this machine.

Did I mention I love this router? Earlier this year, Rockler was having a bundle sale of its router table along with the Triton 2400 router. I decided to go ahead and purchase them together due to the significant savings but didn't really know what to expect from a triton router. After carefully reading the instructions and making sure to follow tritons directions for installation on a router table, I began to test feed different types of hardwoods and softwoods and was instantly impressed with the power and variable speed control. My favorite feature by far is the plunge depth adjustments with the winder handle, there's no need to buy a pricey lift mechanism for this router! Woodworking is an expensive hobby and I feel like my hard earned money was spent wisely on a Triton tool

I really like my new Triton router. I have mounted it in my router table. I have owned it slightly over 30 days it works very with hardwoods that I use. Unfortunately, last week the adjustment knob on the plunger broke off, and I was unable to re attach it. I contacted the service department, and within minutes, received a return authorization to return it for service. Good service staff! I am awaiting the return of my router. While it is frustrating to have to,send in a new router for service, I like the way it works It meets my expectations.

It is the first router i own. I have used some before, nut mostly I have outsourced the routing. Then I got interested and wanted to add this machine to my workshop ... and after two weeks of youtube and rewiewing rewiews i ordered this machine .. I have worked for 4 weeks now with this router, it is mostly set in a table and it performs exceptional. I have used it as handheld as well, but it is a heavy machine and if you do a lot of handheld routing get a smaller machine.. All in all... it is IMO the best price/performace for small home router tables if you are a enthusiast / semi profesional user... this machine seems to be in a league of it's own. Not a toy... a beast rather ... but I love the fact that i can use 1/2" bits as well... and with the additonal head adapter the 8mm bits that are more common in our parts of the world as well ... so i can really use the advantage of the ebay, amazon sets... that come arround somethimes .. I enjoy this machine so far... produced some 1 m3 of routing dust and have not found a single flaw. From my perspective as a DIY hobby user... it is recomedable all day long.

This is a great router, although I had a problem with the on/off switch at first, the customer service was spectacular! I only use the router mounted in a router table and the method for changing bits is easy. I don't have to take the router out of the table, and I only need one wrench to change bits. bought and loved the smaller router so bought the big one when my dewalt burned out a bearing and melted the housing. Love the details and how thought out this was. That said, sending it back(great to deal with the return) because of a glitch with the height adjustment engagement button. Believe it's one of those rare things that all machines sometimes encounter and just my familiarity with this router.... still would recommend

I bought a 2HP Triton router for my custom built router table almost 10 years ago and it finally wore out ... at least the switch went. I have passed that router on to another woodworker who is an electrician and, who knows, maybe he will get many more years of use out of it. I was in the middle of a project involving extensive router table work and, without a single moment of hesitation, I immediately replaced this route rwith its bigger brother, the 3 HP Triton, and was delighted that it has the exact same base and roughly the same height, so installing it under my router table was a breeze. Now the best comments. This new router obviously has more power than my previous Triton ... which was in itself adequate for 10 years, including running big profile for rail and stile doors and panels. But the best part and most critical thing for me is ease of changing bits and the excellent fine adjustment for precise bit height. Before I bought my first Triton, I had installed a DeWalt which required frustrating nder the table effort to loosen and tighten bits and had a cam system for adjusting bit heights that drove me crazy in trying to lock the bit at a precise height. I love how easy the Triton makes both processes. I could easily give my old Triton 5 stars and expect my new one to be the same.

Have had this now for a couple of months, and it gets used nearly every day, I got it to go in my router table, and it is fantastic, plenty of power, and the above table router bit change ability is excellent, worth getting just for this feature alone. I have it fitted into the Jet Xacta router Lift, fits perfect. I have also used it a couple of times for plunge routing, all the controls fall easily to hand, nice smooth plunging, soft start, hook it up to the Triton dust bucket and it is a great combination, all in all a great tool.

I bought the Triton router to replace my old Hitachi that walked off with someone. I like this router, but it does take some getting used to. I had to read the instructions several times in order to figure out how some of the knobs interplay. For example, the micro winder, winder handle clutch ring and the plunge selection button. I still have some trouble pushing the plunge selection button.. one of these days I'll figure out what I'm doing wrong. My only complaint is the retracting power switch cover. It has a tendency to get stuck in the not quite open position. i.e. the router is stuck off and until you get door all the way open, you can't turn it on. Messing around with with the door usually will unstick it, but it is quite annoying to need to stop what I'm doing to fix the door. It also wasn't clear that, when installing a new bit, pushing the router to its maximum depth actually allows the automatic spindle lock to engage. I still haven't tried all the functionality the router supplies.. so far, just basic plunge and micro adjust. Over all, it runs smoothly and much quieter than my previous router, Plenty of power.

I bought a Router and Router Table and having to Crawl under the table to Change bits and to set depth was a pain and the time it took - more time changing bits or setting height than woodworking. There had to be something in the USA there were Router lifts and routers that would fit into them In Australia only Plunge Routers there is a German company that has a plunge router that the motor can be removed and fitted in under table lift -but not available in Australia. Then was told that Triton you could change the bit and set height from above the table =the only such plunge Router. I knew I would need new Router Table so started learning about building one and would use a plunge. I was looking at what jigs I would have to build and seen a manufactured Jig the M-Power CRB7. When I picked up my Triton TRA-001 it was a different base to other Routers and will not connect to the CRB7 so used it where I did not need the CRB7 – But after working with the Triton the other routers are bloody awful and not nice to use. Wish Triton would make standard type base as an extra that you could exchange with their unique base. I would then buy the 2nd Triton

Have had this Router for nearly a month now, and it is brilliant, I use it nearly every day in a Router Table, and love the fact that you can change bits ABOVE the table, and not have to fumble around underneath trying to change bits, and the height winder is great. The safety features are great, and the power handles everything I throw at it. Of course it works just as brilliant as a plunge router also, not just in the router table, the plunge is nice and smooth, with an easy to use locking lever, and the variable speed makes for safe routing with larger bits. Highly recommend it.

I bought TRA001 to use it wit a router table and I love it from first glance. Its very well designed. You know how to safely use it. The designers knew that you need a powerful and easy to use machine and they made it. I had no problem to attach it to my tabel saw extended wing. Only for holes for screws were needed, a central whole for the router bit and a separate hole for rhe lift mechanism. As soon as I fix it and plug it I had to test the tool. Here are my observations: - great lift mechanism (easy and effective) - autostop of the collar when the bit is full up (no need to use 2 wrenches, no need to look under the table) - planty of collars (1/2” and 1/4” you get with the router, 6 and 8 mm can be bought separately) - lots of POWER (no burn marks even with large bits) Buy it and have fun!

I love the features of the triton line, it sits in my router table and is wonderful to use. I love the ease to which I can change bites rais an lower the the bit. For a novice such as myself this router can't be beat. I wish there was an option for buying the tool with out all the gadgets... personally I will never use the 31/4 router to do anything else than be in my table. This is my second triton router. ( I burn the out the first one, a 2Hp, and have moved up to a 31/4... I a am hoping this one will last longer. At this point I treat it with kid gloves, not running it too long, checking its temperature etc... I know a tool should be more robust and less dainty... but I am worried that After 1/2 of hard use the motor will heat to the point of melting. In al fairness my last router demise could have been 'user error'. Yet if companies are going to make sensitive tools maybe they should include an internal heat sensor which turns the tool off until the heat returns to an acceptable level). Another issue that might be a facor against buying this brand is that in Canada where I live I have to pay lots of extra money in shipping to get replacement parts from the only triton parts place in Quebec- I live on the other side of the country in BC.

After three years of use, the router worked well. Last month the router breaked down. Don't swich on. Tries to, but, don't do that. I don't know where is the problem (not in swich on mecanism). So i have tu buy a new electrical circuit, with a 70£ cost being not sure that the router will work. The spanish dealer had said to me that if i open the pack they will not accept the circuit return if the problem is not in it.

I bought this router primarily to put into a router table. I selected it based on a review where the reviewer measured the runout on several routers and the Triton won hands down. That is very important when routing dovetail on a router table. A big plus is that this router has design features that make using it in a router table a real pleasure. It comes with a hand crank so adjustments can be made from above the table. Also one wrench above the table bit changes. No need to purchase a router lift. This on does it all. I just finished dovetailing seven drawers and everything went perfectly. I love it.

I bought this router to install in my router table since my older Hitachi developed severe runout problems making dovetails impossible (I determined that it was the collet). I read some reviews that specifically measured shaft runout and the Triton stood tall among the rest. Another BIG plus is that the Triton comes with the fittings to work as a lift in a router table and the above table bit change feature. These two items have been a real pain for me and now are a breeze. Thank you Triton! I just got done using the router along with my Leigh RTJ400 dovetail jig to make seven drawers. Perfect dovetails every time. Yesterday I did cope and stick routing on two cabinet doors and again great performance. Adjustments from above the table made it really easy. The only thing I wish that came with the router is a sticker with the rpms for the variable settings.

I consider this router to have been an excellent purchase. I don't have a lot of space in my shop, so I don't have the luxury of having the exact tool for every job. So I have to be selective when it comes to how many of each tool type I purchase (don't have room for a trim router, medium duty router heavy duty router, table router, etc...). So I bought this one figuring it is powerful enough to do pretty much anything I need in the table, and most everything I foresee myself doing when not attached to the table. It may not be as convenient for small jobs, but it should still work for anything I plan on doing with it. I'm very happy with the design, smooth plunge action, built-in lift, etc.

For a few years now, I've been struggling by with an old BD router that just could barely cut it. Now that I'm in a position to start buying quality tools, my friend told me to check out the Triton TRA001 before looking at anything else. I talked at length at a local trade show to a Triton rep about the router and between the two, they sold me on it. Since buying it, I can tell my skills have improved dramatically with a lot less errors. I wish I had known about this sooner, I would have saved up earlier for it. Oh, quick hint...if you're mounting it to a router table, be sure to remove the plunge spring to keep it from wearing out.

Purchased the Triton 2400W Dual Mode Precision Plunge Router mainly to cut some Kitchen work tops at my sons new house (bit of a mess) and looking at various router reviews the cheaper ones all appeared to have problems/issues – vibration, collets getting stuck, accuracy so was about to go for one the more expensive so called ‘trade’ options (Dewalt, Makita etc) when I came across the Triton being advertised at our local Screwfix outlet. Price was good and all the reviews were good apart from the obvious operator type issues so decided to go for it and not looked back. Cut the worktops, joints and lengths with no problems, all the decorative side panel fixings with nice clean accurate cuts, very pleased with the results and ready to start on the next project – as I said the house is a mess. The range and availability of extras such as collets and guide bushes has been good with availability from other makes such as Trend also out there – always a good sign for a product. In use the router feels solid and good to hold, proving a good replacement for my older 1/4" one, the depth adjustment proved quick and easy to use with the fine adjustment being used for the final cut when required, the built in safety features are also a nice touch. The option to fix in a table at some point is another option I’ll probably try but for now finding it works well as a stand unit. Only downside I guess is lack of a case which would have been nice.

I did a lot of online research and talking with other woodworkers and saw and heard nothing but positive information/comments on this router. I already had two routers but after tiring of stooping and reaching under the table to make adjustments, etc. neither seemed to be a long term fit for permanent use for a router table. I purchased this Triton TRA001 router to specifically mount under my Kreg Router Table. Installation was quick and easy. I needed a router with variable speed, powerful and easy to use under a table and the Triton TRA001 delivers. This router allows me to make easy bit changes and height adjustments thereby saving time and being super convenient. I love that is also comes with 1/2" and 1/4" collets and can't speak highly enough about the automatic spindle lock for single tool bit changes. After using Craftsman, Dewalt and Bosch routers I am super impressed with this Triton TRA001 router.

This Tritan TRA001 is a very clever designed powerful machine. First the automatic shaft lock when you want to change your cutter. Really handy specially if you build this router in a router table. You only need the supplied key to change your bit, lower the machine and ready to go. Height adjustment is very precise without play and can be easily locked into position. Quick height adjustment is also available. For router table owners, you can adjust the height from the top of the table with supplied key. Works great. The foot is stable, bigger than average routers. The plunge construction very ridgid which helps to keep narrow tolerances. Safety wise the on/off button is a nice as it is protected by a door. There is a small delay when powered up. Once you get used to it it is good to have. Speed is fully adjustable to router bit/ material you are cutting. Machine is reasonably quiet and runs smooth, no play in shaft. The housing is a combination of fibre enforced strong engineered plastic and aluminium. It is well made and finished which is good. If I had to change one thing it would be the point where the cable exit the machine to slightly lower point. Adding some hear protection in the box would be a bonus.

I'd had my eye on this router for quite some time, having seen review videos for it on the internet. It looked amazing. Packed with loads of really useful functions which made it ideal for mounting in a router table, which is where mine lives. I haven't bothered drilling a hole for the height lift yet as I have easy access to the underside of the table to use the micro adjuster which works perfectly. I love the fact too that when the router is fully extended the collet is easily accessible from above the table and the automatic spindle lock means changing cutters is a one handed operation. Whoever has designed this tool obviously has real world experience of woodworking and specifically in using a router. I own two other routers which are nowhere near as easy to use or powerful. This is my best purchase of 2018.

I currently have 2 different routers in my home work shop which I use quite frequently. I added a new Kreg Router table to my shop and knew that I wanted a powerful router to permanently mount underneath it. Either of my current routers would have mounted under the table but neither have an above table cut depth adjustment or bit change capability.
