Triton TJS001 Pendelhubstichsäge, 750 W

This is quite a large bulky unit with the body grip on the large side for my medium sized hands, the on/off switch is not that great again the large body grip does not help with this, perhaps OK for some with with very large hands? This is taller by a half inch and longer by 1.5 inch than my old Bosch Jigsaw making it awkward when working inside Kitchen cabinets.

But where this really falls down is; when using a standard contour cutting blade as supplied by Bosch this tool cannot cut through a standard 40mm counter top, my old Bosch Jigsaw has done this many times using this same type of blade and uses 80% of the 50mm cutting edge of the contour blade, the Triton only cuts to 30mm using only 60% of the 50mm blade, this also suggests there will be 20% less lifespan to the blade as well as being hopeless for use to cut any contours into a worktop.

I had been using an old Elu body grip Jigsaw for many years and I find this not to be half as good as the Elu, it is so much bigger and so heavy, plus the on/off switch is not near as good as the old type trigger switch, doing a lot of fine work with a scrolling blade I find this tool to be rather cumbersome, I now regret not paying that little extra to get the equivalent body grip in the Bosch.

I replaced an old Bosch DIY jigsaw with this, and it's like day & night. The Triton tool is powerful enough to easily rip the 6x2 I was working with, with enough precision to get the job done. It feels sturdy and the grip layout makes it easy to handle in all orientations. Impressed.

I wanted a new body grip jigsaw of professional quality & looked at Bosch & Makita. I decided to take a chance on this one as it was the only one in stock, I'm glad I did. It is extremely well made & a pleasure to use, I particularly like the soft start & the blade ejection system, saves burning your fingers on a hot blade. The best compliment I can give it is to say this was my first Triton Tool but it won't be my last.
