Palm sander

This is a well made tool which performed well when sanding Birch. Unfortunately, the handle became very hot when used for more than a few minutes. The belt is very exposed at the front of the machine so there is a risk of touching a moving belt if ones hand slips off the handle. For this reason, I do not allow my students to use it.

Compct belt sander

Really a tad heavier than I thought it would be but I love it. I used it on a gunstock to shape the butt and cheekpiece(I build flintlocks). It was purchased for that purpose but I am sure I will use it for much more. It lends itself well to small projects since it is a more manageable size, not bulky. I was looking hard for an old Porter Cable 2 1/2 x 14 when I ran across this one. So glad they make it in 60hz models for USA.

DO NOT BUY

Sander works well however, replacement belts are impossible to purchase. No where has any stock. I know this because I struggled to find them by doing a Google search on the bet size to no avail. I then contacted Triton customer service and they emailed me back the specific product code to search for the belts. Still no joy finding any stock and so the sander is rendered useless after only 18 months! Doubt I will buy Triton products again after this!!

Good machine except for on off switch

Works well.
The position of the on/off switch is poor and I had to use my left hand to use the switch.
A rocker switch would have made it easier to operate the sander with one hand.
